Jet Filters and Auxiliary Equipment

Jet filters, air filters, vacuum systems, powder and granule sieves, air sets, blowers and dehumidifiers: the auxiliary equipment that keeps a mixing, dosing and feeding line clean, dry and running.

Jet filter units

A PVC mixing line is more than the mixer. Dust collection, pneumatic conveying, sieving and moisture control all help the main machines run efficiently and cleanly. Erk PVC Makine also builds this auxiliary equipment and includes it in its projects.

Jet filter

A jet (pulse-jet) filter captures dust carried out with the air at points such as the mixer, the dosing weigh hopper and silos. As dirty air passes through the filter elements, dust collects on their outer surface and clean air is released. At set intervals the elements are cleaned by short pulses of compressed air, and the dislodged dust falls into the hopper. This keeps filter resistance at a sensible level for long periods, and in many cases the collected material can go back into the process.

Conveying and air equipment

  • Vacuum system: used to convey granules by air.
  • Blower: supplies the airflow for pneumatic conveying.
  • Air filter: protects the conveying air and the equipment from dust.
  • Air set: conditions the compressed air supply.

Together these form the backbone of the air conveying option within extruder feeding systems.

Sieving

Powder sieves and granule sieves remove foreign matter, oversized particles and lumps before they enter the process. That helps prevent blockages and surface defects further along at the mixer, the dosing system and the extruder.

Dehumidifier

Moisture in powders and granules can lead to poor flow, caking and surface defects during extrusion. A dehumidifier lowers these risks by drying the material or the storage environment. In plants where silo material cakes, it can be combined with a vertical mixer.

Adding it to a project

Auxiliary equipment is selected to suit the capacity and layout of the main system. Telling us where dust is released, how far material travels and how sensitive the raw material is to moisture is a good starting point. In automatic powder dosing projects, a jet filter is usually one of the first auxiliary items to be planned.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How is a jet filter cleaned?

The filter elements are cleaned at intervals by short pulses of compressed air; the collected dust drops into the hopper while the filter keeps running.

Which auxiliary equipment do you supply?

Jet filters, air filters, vacuum systems, powder sieves, granule sieves, air sets, blowers and dehumidifiers.
